Our History
Reflection Ridge Golf Course was designed by Florida-based Architect, Karl Litten, and opened for play in June of 1989.
The original concept was a Par 3 Course with limited surrounding homes. As the concept turned into reality, it became an 18-Hole PGA Championship Golf Course known as Reflection Ridge surrounded by the full, beautiful neighborhood we enjoy today.
The course is located in Northwest Wichita at the intersection of 21st Street and Ridge Road. The course name, Reflection Ridge, was selected by the family of the original developer, Reg Boothe. Reflection Ridge Golf Course has hosted many prestigious golf tournaments over the years including the Kansas Women’s State Amateur, Kansas Golf Association’s Father/Son Championship, and the 6A High School State Championships. From 1990 through 1996, Reflection Ridge was the home of the Ben Hogan/Nike Wichita Open.
Many of today’s PGA tour players have competed at The Ridge; the list of past champions is as follows:
- 1990 Tom Lehman
- 1991 Eric Hoos
- 1992 Jeff Woodland
- 1993 David Duval
- 1994 Dennis Postlewait
- 1995 David Toms
- 1996 Rick Cramer
Reflection Ridge was purchased in 2007 by Doctor William “Bill” Loewen and family. Reflection Ridge offers a unique year-round golf experience in Wichita with beautiful bent grass fairways and greens. We value the beauty, playability, and dedicated membership that make up the Reflection Ridge Family. If you are looking for your ideal golf home, come and try The Ridge!
Burt Ussery • General Manager
Burt joined Reflection Ridge as the General Manager in August of 2015. Although he has enjoyed the game of golf for many years, his career path has been a road through 21 years serving in the military, retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Captain, then spending 20 years with a medical device company serving as Vice President of both Human Resources and Field Service Operations. The transition to the golf industry has been a very rewarding experience and has provided him the opportunity to work with a truly professional staff and incredible membership. His focus for Reflection Ridge is first and foremost on creating an environment where our members, and staff alike, find The Ridge the very best golf club to play, and work for, in Wichita.
